How long will it take?
The Watertown History Museum is staffed solely by volunteers. Depending on the availability of volunteers (and the depth of the research needed) it can take anywhere from a week up to 2 months to get all of the information that you need. However, our curator or one of our research volunteers will reach out to you within the first 72 hours of receiving your Research Request Form (found below) to discuss the project further and give you an accurate deadline.
If you are looking for the following information, we do NOT have it. These records will instead be in the appropriate Town Hall office or in a State of CT government office.
- Birth/Death Records
- Marriage Records
- Land Records
- Probate Records
The Watertown History Museum ONLY deals with the history of Watertown and Oakville. If you are looking for the history of any other town, please refer to their local historical society or museum instead.
Please fill out the Research Request Form and return it either by mail or via email.
